Emergency Preparedness

An emergency is a situation that poses an immediate risk to health, life, property, or environment.



In case of Emergency

  • The people on hearing the emergency alarm or voice sign should leave the work in hand.

  • All personnel in the premises should follow the escape route to assemble at the predefined place.

  • The leader should do the head count according to the number of present personnel in the premises.

  • In case of missing personnel, him/her shall be searched under instruction of the leader (Emergency Controller).

  • The uninjured person, not required to assist the emergency team and shall be evacuated through safe route to refuge area and asked to stand by for any help.

  • The person with bone or spinal cord injury shall be shifted to safe shelter/place.

  • First aid treatment shall be given to injured person only by trained first aider.

  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) shall be given to unconscious injured person till medical help reaches.

  • Medical help and ambulance shall be arranged to take care of the injured.

  • Electricity, fire brigade and police department shall be contacted according to the situation.

  • In case of fire, fire extinguisher according to type of fire shall be used for fire fighting team.


Action to be taken in case of any serious injury

  • During emergency, refer the emergency contact list displayed.

  • Take the injured person to the nearest hospital in minimum time.

  • If the site is at remote area or hospital is very far and where ambulance is not available then a four wheeler to be arranged.

  • Provide the injured the best possible medical assistance.

  • Inform the respective branch office / superiors about the incident immediately.

Do‘s

  • Do communicate to your co-workers about emergency preparedness.

  • Do follow the directions of emergency controller.

  • Do stop and think and use common sense in an emergency.

  • Do call immediately on the emergency number, Police 100, Ambulance-108,

  • Fire-101, common for all emergencies 112 and describe the situation.

  • As much as possible collect the evidences/ protect the evidences.

  • Take injured in Ambulance / four wheeler only

Don‘ts

  • Don’t leave the victim alone.

  • Don’t try making the victim drink water.

  • Don’t panic, In an emergency take a moment to think before you act.

  • Don’t make assumptions.

  • Don’t go anywhere except to your designated assembly place.

  • Don’t go to any emergency scene.
